Calcium builds and maintains bones and teeth, is essential for healthy blood, helps regulate heartbeat, eases insomnia, assists in blood clotting, and plays a part in muscle growth and contraction. It also aids in iron utilization, activates several enzymes, and regulates the passage of nutrients in and out of cells.

Vitamin D is the most important factor in the absorption of calcium. Antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E are also important, as are the minerals magnesium and phosphorus. Stress and too little exercise can decrease the body's absorption.

Magnesium is a mineral important in relaxing muscles. It regulates the pH balance, helps regulate body temperature, and aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates and amino acids. Valerian Root aids in relaxing the muscles and nerves.
