Swine Flu (H1N1)

CDC continues to take aggressive action to respond to an expanding outbreak caused by H1N1 (swine flu). CDC´s response goals are to reduce transmission and illness severity, and provide information to help health care providers, public health officials and the public address the challenges posed by this emergency.

CDC continues to issue and update interim guidance daily in response to the rapidly evolving situation. Early this morning, CDC provided interim guidance on school closures. Supplies from CDC´s Division of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) are being sent to all 50 states and U.S. territories to help them respond to the outbreak. In addition, the Federal Government and manufacturers have begun the process of developing a vaccine against this new virus.

Response actions are aggressive, but they may vary across states and communities depending on local circumstances. Communities, businesses, places of worship, schools and individuals can all take action to slow the spread of this outbreak. People who are sick are urged to stay home from work or school and to avoid contact with others, except to seek medical care. This action can avoid spreading illness further.

The nation... the world... is on alert. So what are we to do?
A super zoonotic infection may be on the march. (A zoonotic infection is one that crosses from animal to human.) In this case, the latest flu outbreak is apparently part human, part pig, part bird... hence, "When Pigs Fly Flu." I doubt the CDC will come up with a better name. They surely will not dub it the Mexican Flu, since that would be so un-PC.

So, what´s the deal here? Might we have a catastrophic epidemic, what is known as a pandemic? Yes, we definitely will someday but I do not think this is it. Why do I say that? Two reasons. (1) This is very much out of flu season. (2) When the pandemic truly hits it will be fast and massive. We won´t be talking about a few dozen isolated cases we will quickly be flooded with hundreds of thousands of cases probably millions. If you just think about it a minute you will realize that the speed of transportation these days and the sheer number of people traveling at any given moment will guarantee a lightening fast spread of the disease. Just picture Disneyland. Hundreds of thousands of people (different groups daily) from all over the world packed tightly together in lines touching the same guard rails, coughing and sneezing on each other. Any highly contagious disease is going to be in viral heaven. When it happens it is going to happen FAST, much too quickly to stop or even contain.

Even if there was a working vaccine (which there won´t be) there will be no way to get it manufactured and distributed before the disease runs its course. Sorry for the bad news but this has happened before (The Flu Pandemic of 1918 killed 25 to 40 million) and will happen again.  The good news is that this isn´t the big one so relax. Why all the hype then?

I think it will be helpful if we go back and look at some history.

During the Swine Flu of 1976:
Government health authorities spread panic, rushed a vaccine to production, which lead to 517 cases of paralysis and other very serious problems, and 23 cases of death, from Guillane-Barre Syndrome. Yes, all this was from the flu vaccine, not the flu. What was the actual toll of the swine flu of 1976 itself? 13 actual cases of the flu, one death. So, mortality-wise, the flu vaccine was 23 times more deadly than the flu itself. (You still trust these people???) Ah, when science, big business and politics mix, stupidity almost always follows.
What does this mean? I urge you to think before you line up for the flu vaccine now, which is NOT the same strain as the current flu. (It almost never is.) DO NOT consider it a wise precaution. Besides having little to no preventive value, the substances in the flu vaccine carry substantial health risks. Despite what the "talking heads" of the media and the government may have to say, there will be virtually no benefit, and substantial risk getting this vaccine.

What about when they have the new vaccine ready in a few months? Remember the 1976 disaster. What will you do if you wake up paralyzed? Should you question to alleged experts? You betcha! Keep in mind the vast amounts of money that the pharmaceutical industry is destined to make on this. We are talking BILLIONS. You can be sure that they are leaning on all of their government contacts to make sure that everything (your tax dollars) is in place to enrich their coffers, despite the dangers, despite the lack of effectiveness.

So, what to do, to be prepared? Instead of following the "experts," like sheep, may I suggest that you THINK. Infection? Your defense is your immune system, which is run by your nervous system. The answer is simple. Boost your immune system through proven supplementation, and get your body working at peak performance.

Our suggestions
1. Eat well. Avoid junk food. Avoid excess sugar. Take supplements of Vitamins C and D.
2. Get some sun. (Good for Vitamin D activation.)
3. Get plenty of rest.
4. Have fun. Maintain a good mental attitude. Relax. Maybe meditate.
5. Exercise regularly. Stretching is very important too, but different.
6. Drink enough water.

The Flu Pandemic of 1918. 25 to 40 million died. Here´s the figures. In 1979, Walter Rhodes wrote that, during the Pandemic, medical doctors in Davenport, Iowa treated 93,590 patients, with 6,116 deaths, in other words, one out of 15 under medical care succumbed to the flu. At the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, 1,635 flu cases were adjusted and given supplements, with only one fatality. Outside of Davenport, Iowa chiropractors adjusted 4,735 flu cases, with only six deaths - one out of 866. In 1919, Palmer College of Chiropractic published "The Flu and You." The ratio of flu cases cared for vs. deaths were as follows: Medical care: 1 out of 17 died. Osteopathic care with supplements: 1 out of 36 died. Chiropractic care with supplements: 1 out of 886!

Do the math. Outside of the BJ Palmer clinic, chiropractic care was 59 times more effective in saving lives than Medicine. Inside the Palmer Clinic, Chiropractic was 110 times as effective. No matter what preconceptions or prejudices you or someone else may have, what works... works! And, it makes sense.

Remember

The normal flu that we see each year kills thousands of people for one simple reason. They ignored the symptoms and continued life as usual. No one has to die or even suffer greatly from this flu. There are easy steps to prevent and treat this flu. If you do contract this flu, by using alternative medicine you will be making your own antibodies to protect yourself if a similar flu were to come along in the future.
Seniors and infants are at most risk of this flu. Asthmatics and others with upper respiratory conditions are also at risk of suffering the most.
Vaccines are way overrated, and each year thousands of people die after receiving their vaccine. Many people cannot even tolerate them.

So, you can follow the so-called experts like sheep, or you can do what intelligent people do, use common sense, and learn from the lessons of history.

If and when the "When Pigs Fly Flu" becomes dangerous do more of steps 1-6. You can also add supplements to your program to build up your immune system.

Tamiflu
Tamiflu is designed to relieve some of the symptoms if you take it at the onset of the symptoms. Tamiflu will not shorten the duration of the flu and for some will not help at all.

Disease Knowledge
The disease process be bacterial or viral are caused by the weakening of the immune system. The more toxic our bodies become the harder the immune system has to work on maintaining a healthy environment. Our diets are the primary source of toxins that enter the body. All foods have their own bacteria´s on them that naturally occur. These bacteria release chemical waste materials which become endotoxins in the body. Our lymphatic system and liver have the toughest job in maintaining a toxin and endotoxin free system. The people who get diseases from these bacteria´s have weakened immunity and extreme toxic systems. By keeping the intestinal track strong using a full spectrum probiotic, you can prevent some of these bacterial overgrowths. We recommend Biodophilus capsules or powder which is best kept refrigerated and always required to use when taking antibiotics. Remember, disease can only survive in the hosts immune system that is conducive to the disease requirements.

It is not possible to always diagnose the actual problem whether it is viral or bacterial. To prevent drug therapy and worsening of symptoms it is always recommended to address all symptoms. There are ways to treat a child using just homeopathic remedies. This is best done if you can address the symptoms at the onset.
If you get sick often you may want to do a preventative medicine program to build and support your immune system and slowly detox the body. If you have any questions or simply not sure how to treat yourself, you can contact your practitioner, web site, or business were you found this information.
